Dr. Kenneth Guzik is the founder of Ellettsville Chiropractic. Undergrad was at Uni. of Pgh in Pre dent/med. Enrolled at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in 1977. While there as a student he performed over 700 research comparisons of the Derma-Therm-O-Graph (DTG) and Neuroclometer .
Dr. Guzik opened his office in Bloomington, IN on September 1981. He moved to Ellettsville in 1983. Another move to the current and larger facility at 403 West Temperance Street (ST Road 46 East) was made after the highway was completed. We are in the same building as the Ellettsville Fitness Center.
Dr. Guzik married his wife Kim and they have two grown children, both who are Eagle Scouts and both who have served on National Youth Leadership Training at Camp Maumee. Dr. Guzik is still involved in supporting Scouting and the NYLT program having served on adult staff for 10 years.
While at Sherman College Dr. Guzik started visiting local Chiropractic offices when back at home. The last office he visited he meet Dr. Pierce who started the Results System and remained associated with him helping at seminars and preparing his slides for teaching until his passing.
Through a multitude of car crashes he has sought ways to speed up the recovery process which has lead to the "why we do what we do" for best results. We start with an AWESOME exam to give you, the patient, the best recommendations for your case. Since 1981 we deliver what we consider is the best care available. If we think we may help you we will tell you. If we do not think so we will tell you that too & recommend a referral.
When Dr. Guzik is not in office he enjoys teaching, weight lifting, travel via RV, biking, and windsurfing.

Hello, My name is Kim Guzik, I am a native of Bloomington. I am a former "Skibo," attending Smithville school for 9 years.
I graduated high school from Bloomington High School South. and played Basketball for a total of 5 years..... loved it. I worked at Marsh in produce for 17 years before Chiropractic.
I have been involved in Chiropractic since 1988, first starting as a patient after a car crash. Because of the relief I received from the car crash pain, I began evolving into a certified Chiropractic X-ray tech and have a total of 33years of experience at Ellettsville Chiropractic.
I am a proud mother of two boys, Louis and Logan which are both Eagle Scouts. And a little Yorkie named Gunner who keeps me on my toes!
My hobbies are horses, basketball, hiking, biking, walking with my little dog and working out with my husband at the Ellettsville Fitness Center. I really enjoy helping people get better, everyday.

Hello, my name is Trish Hoff. I am from Bloomington, IN and graduated from Bloomington High School North.
After graduation I worked at Cook, Inc for 9 years where I met my husband of 22 years. I was a full time Mom after having my wonderful daughter. She is almost done with college so I decided to start working again. I had been a patient for many years with Dr. Guzik & experienced the benefits of better health via Chiropractic personally so when the opportunity to become part of this team presented itself I jumped on it!
Outside of work my hobbies include making DIY home decor, going to antique shops with my husband and snuggles with my cat. I love meeting our patients as they are just like family :-)

This is a 12 year old male. Past injuries & posture patterns brought him to our office with the x-ray on the left on his initial exam. Palpation and ortho/neuro revealed many "hot" (positive) tests.
The x-ray on the right is after 4 weeks of adjustive and spinal physical therapy combined with neurio muscular re-education. Although still not released to wellness care when this pic was taken he is on they way towards better days and standing tall. "As a twig is bent so grows the tree."
Our goal is not only to allow your to feel better thru spinal adjustments but to actually get you better back towards normal.

Importance of the Curve
This is a x-ray of a cervical spine shown as the patient was standing. Note the shape of the vertebra and how they are deformed when compared to the 3rd one from the top. This is a prime example of the critical importance of maintaining the front of the vertebra on the curved line in the pictured example. This leads to loss of height, rounded shoulders, and what is classically described as the "looking for the grave" posture. The enormous interference this creates between your brain and the organ/tissue it is going to can cause inflammation leading to pain.
Our analysis locates the interference site (subluxation) and specific adjustments designed to reduce and correct the cause of the dysfunction is made.

Importance of the Curve
The "curves" of the spine are CRITICAL to your health and function. Reducing the subluxation (spinal nerve irritation) which interferes with the innate control the brain has to the organs, muscles, and other body tissues, as well as feed back to the brain, if left to continue to exist = disaster.

First, we have the experience of over 40 years. Second, we have the equipment and education few offices have today. (be sure to watch the video at the very bottom of this developing website). Third, via NON twist/turn adjustments we can handle most cases that even those who have fears of pain say "Gee, that wasn't bad at all."
Dr. Guzik has provided care for those 10 days old through 97 years old. We produce smiling faces because patients get back to doing what they have been missing out on in their life....and, we prove the change on x-ray so one not only feels better but, actually are better.

Yes, we are now open. Current patients will notice changes in the office, new plexiglass at windows, only 3 chairs are in reception room to allow for separation between patients. This all because of covid-19. We are VERY Lysol sterile and before each encounter tables/instruments are sanitized BEFORE you arrive. Also, when entering the office you have the option to wear a face-mask/nose-mouth covering. Please leave purse/backpack in your locked car along with your phone (take a break from being "connected"). If three people are in our receptionist room wait in your car until someone exits. Chairs are spread out for distance.
The fewer items you bring into the office as well as the less you touch make it better for everyone. WE are all in this together & we are here for you in the safest way possible. At this point the only thing you may catch at OUR office is a Lysol rash :-). But seriously, nothing lives in the adjusting areas because of how we are running the office for you to get the care you need and deserve. You may wear a mask but it is not required.

Great staff! Kim and Pam are wonderful. I have been to several chiropractors over the years of my back/neck pain. I have been going to Dr. Guzik since the 80's..I had been going to another doctor for a year,but to only get worse as time went on.Once I started going to Dr.Guzik, I stayed...He has kept me out of a wheel chair all these years...I trust him completely.... His wife,Kim works the office and does some x-rays...She is such a special person, so kind and understanding.... The staff is great also...They all make you feel welcome....If there was awards to be given out,Dr.Guzik and his staff, would get them all.That is truly how I feel. Do you x-ray before adjusting?
Absolutely!!! To see is to Know, not to see is to guess, and we will not guess about spinal conditions or safety. Over the last 40 years we have identified many non-chiropractic issues that required a patient to have additional care outside our office. At Ellettsville Chiropractic we provide the care you need and deserve, even being sent to another MD outside our office, or an MRI or CT scan.
Do you twist the spine when adjusting?
NO!!! All adjusting is done by hand or intstrument depending upon the area. Our adjusting tables are modern state of the art units that make adjustments much more painless. Indeed, many times patients will remark "That's It!"
How will I know I'm really better?
Depending on the initial exam and x-ray findings, patients are able to choose from 3 types of care options relative to what they qualify for after analysis. At each 4 weeks we do a Progress exam that when compared to the initial will show a patient how far they have improved.
What ages have you adjusted?
From 10 days old to 97 years old.
What should I do if in an auto crash?
#1. Get yourself safe by moving out of traffic.
#2, Phone for the police to come.....NO MATTER HOW MUCH OR LITTLE THE CAR DAMAGE.
#3. PHONE OUR OFFICE. There are some x-ray disc injuries/tears/findings that can disappear after just a few hours. Even if you go to the ER understand that they are there to focus on KEEPING YOU ALIVE. We focus on getting you well as well as DOCUMENTING damage that may directly affect your future pain and suffering. If something is wrong we will tell you. If nothing is torn, we will tell you that too. :-)
